How do Gears work in BPSR?
Gears in this game mainly come from doing dungeons as well as raids. There are two types of dungeons. The first one is the daily unstable one, which gives you the basic shit gear. And then there are the actual dungeons that give you the good gear. Now, there are 6 main dungeons in this game, and you will be mainly farming gear from these, at least for Season 1.
There are also other ways to acquire gear, like fighting the World Bosses, and they will drop the gear. You don’t even need the key for it.
But the main farming is, of course, done through the dungeons. Every dungeon comes with a different difficulty and drops different types of gear. The normal mode in these dungeons drops the Level 40 epic gear, and the Hard Mode in these Dungeons drops the Level 40 legendary Gear.
Ability Score
In short, Ability score is the indicator of your power in combat. No matter how low or high your AS is, you will be able to access all the content in the game but this score does affect how well you do in combat.
Your AS is affected by the following items:
- Adventurer Level – (The in-game level)
- Talents – (Abilities that build your unique fighting style)
- Skill Training – (Individual skills that can be upgraded)
- Gear – (Unique equipment like helmets, shoes, etc.)
- Emblem – (Adds buffs and passive effects)
- Module – (Adds random buffs with node lines)
Your main focus should be on hitting the bare minimum AS to access the hard dungeons. Once those are available, you can focus on getting those legendary gear items.
How to Upgrade Your Gear?
Until you get to the very end of the game, you will have to just get on with the items that you find along the way. To be met with their maximum potential, you will have to keep these items upgraded by reforging and refining.
There are several ways to improve your gear, and to upgrade it, you will have to head over to Maxim in the Artisan’s guild hall, where you can follow the steps listed below:
1. Refining your Gear
This action is unlocked on the third day of the server launch and after you have reached Adventurer Level 28. A refined gear has maximized passive buffs that are permanent as well. While improving your gears, a success bar is also present, which makes the whole thing even more challenging. Refinement can be done through the following items:
- Starforge Crystals
- Mystery Metal
- Radiant Stone
- Fine Forgestone
- Bound Luno
Some of this stuff can be difficult to collect, but you also have the option of buying it through Unbound Rose Gems (premium currency), which can be acquired after you top up BPSR.
2. Reforging
This basically allows you to increase the perfection rating and the values of every attribute except the legendary affix one. In order to perform a reforging, you will have to get Reforge stones first, which can be returned if you dismantle all of your gear. These stones can be obtained from the following sources:
- Unstable Space
- Chaotic Realm
- Mystery Store
- Honor Coin Store
- Trading Centre
- Gear Exchange
3. Gem Embedding
Players can unlock Gem Embedding on the 4th day of the server launch and after reaching Adventurer Level 38. Each piece of gear can have one gem embedded in it, and embedding one gem requires Luno Bound. And once a gem has been embedded, it can’t be taken out or removed. You can get all your items back when you dismantle your gear, but the gems embedded in that will be destroyed.
Based on their color, shape, and rarity, gems can increase basic or advanced attributes. Gems can either be crafted or bought from the Trading Center.
Some of the gems and the boost they provide are as follows:
- Ruby – Crit
- Topaz – Luck
- Emerald – Mastery
- Sapphire – Haste
Dismantling your Gear
At one point in the game, you will eventually have better gear and will have no use left for your old gear; this is when the Dismantling comes in. You can have Maxim dismantle them, and all the materials used to improve that gear will be refunded. This way, you could easily make use of the obsolete gear.
Tips & Tricks
Reclaim Shop
In case you missed a daily or weekly contest or event, you could just head over to the Reclaim Hub, which sells the Gears and Materials you have missed. It also allows you to catch on and quickly get to the endgame. This Hub can be found in the Season Pass Menu.
The Legendary Box
When you complete a dungeon in hard mode for the very first time, you are rewarded with a box in which you can choose one of two legendary gear items. DO NOT USE IT RIGHT AWAY. Save it for later because after completing those dungeons, you might get the same piece, and now you have two of them.
