All sorts of cards have come out in Pokémon TCG Pocket over the years, whether they’re base or Megas. However, there’s a certain charm about regular ex cards. This is especially true since they perfectly balance potential and risk, allowing players to make better plays. Meowscarada ex may be new, but the card is already defining some awesome decks, and we want to highlight our favorite ones.

What is the Meowscarada ex card in Pokémon TCG Pocket?
The Paldean Wonders expansion in Pokémon TCG Pocket features multiple cards, including Meowscarada ex. This Grass-type card is a stage 2 evolution with two attacks. The first attack is Solar Beam, which requires two Grass-type energy cards and does 80 base damage. This isn’t anything to write home about, which is why you may have to use LootBar’s services to get complimentary cards. However, this Pokémon’s second attack is pretty nice.
Flower Trick requires only one Grass-type energy to use. It has players choose any spot on the enemy’s active and bench locations. The Pokémon at that spot takes 70 base damage at the end of the enemy’s next turn. This makes the attack perfect when attempting to either take down a squishy card on the enemy’s team or forcing the enemy to waste a turn swapping a valuable card out from the selected spot.
As for the card’s other stats, it requires only one energy of any type to retreat, which can come in handy. In addition to its +20 weakness to Fire-type attacks, players also have to watch out for the fact that the card gives enemies two points for getting knocked out. This essentially means that you can only afford to lose one more card if Meowscarada ex gets knocked out.
What are the best Meowscarada ex decks in Pokémon TCG Pocket?
Meowscarada ex may have an awesome move, but the card itself is fairly weak. Because of this, it’s crucial for the right support cards to help it really shine. The two best decks we have do exactly this. The first deck is the Meowscarada ex X Teal Mask Ogerpon ex deck, as well as the double Meowscarada deck.
Meowscarada ex X Teal Mask Ogerpon ex deck
This deck may seem underwhelming, but it perfectly utilizes Teal Mask Ogerpon ex’s ability to ensure that Meowscarada ex can stay in the active spot for longer.
Below are the cards required for this deck:
Sprigatito x2
Meowscarada ex x2
Teal Mask Ogerpon x2
Chingling x2
Rare Candy x2
Poke Ball x2
Professor’s Research x2
Cyrus x2
Copycat x1
Arven x1
Leaf Cape x1
Mars x1
Speed is the name of the game when it comes to this specific deck. As soon as the battle starts, you immediately want to fill your active and bench spots with your Pokémon. In addition to one Meowscarada ex in the active spot, you want one of every three unique Pokémon in the bench spot. Sprigatito can help this happen faster with its move, and you can always switch to Chingling if you need to stop your enemy from using an item card.
Once Meowscarada ex is finally in the active spot, you can use Teal Mask Ogerpon’s ability to ensure it doesn’t get any status afflictions. Try to focus on taking down enemy Pokémon with low health to ensure you can make the most of Meowscarada ex’s unique attack.
Of course, the rest of the support cards are intended to help your two Meowscarada ex survive. The Leaf Cape is awesome for this because of the +30 HP it grants Grass-type Pokémon. However, smart usage of cards such as Cyrus and Arven is key if you want to dominate every battle with this deck.
Double Meowscarada deck
The base Meowscarada card was making waves when it came out because of its high attack potential against ex cards. The Double Meowscarada deck merges that attack potential with Meowscarada ex’s unique attack to cover a wide range of weaknesses.
Below are the cards you need for this deck:
Sprigatito x2
Floragato x1
Meowscarada ex x2
Meowscarada x1
Poke Ball x2
Rare Candy x2
Quick Grow Extract x1
Leaf Cape x2
Professor’s Research x2
Erika x2
Cyrus x2
Copycat x1
The goal for this deck is also to ensure that all three Meowscaradas are ready in the active and bench spots. Try to aim to get Meowscarada ex online first, so that you can deal damage to the enemy’s benched Pokémon before they get the chance to evolve or acquire energy. Use cards such as the Rare Candy and Quick Grow Extract for this.
When the enemy finally pulls out their powerhouse ex cards, you want to switch to the base Meowscarada. Fighting Claws is an awesome attack that deals up to 130 damage to the enemy’s ex Pokémon for a meager two Grass-type energies. This can make quick work of most enemy Pokémon, especially if you’ve already inflicted decent damage with Meowscarada ex’s Flower Trick attack.
Conclusion
Meowscarada ex’s unique Flower Trick ability ensures that there isn’t much flexibility when it comes to the best decks for it. Fortunately, if you find yourself lacking any cards to fill out the deck you like the most, you can always buy a Pokémon TCG Pocket top up to ensure you change that.
