Solgaleo ex deck

Pokemon Tcg Pocket Solgaleo Deck

Metal-type decks in Pokémon TCG Pocket are known for their durability. They’re usually slow at the start, but build up enough threats on the bench to deal damage. This pace caused issues at the game’s release, but newer cards have made Metal-type decks great, with Solgaleo ex being an excellent example. Solgaleo ex is a good example of a card that needs very specific cards to ensure it can really shine, though LootBar can always help players do that.

This deck uses Solgaleo ex as its main attacker. The card’s main advantage is dealing heavy damage for two energy. Even though it’s a stage 2 Pokémon, players can enable it using rare candy, allowing them to skip the stage 1 evolution. Its Rising Road ability will enable it to switch from the bench to the active spot once during a turn, letting it enter after it’s set up. The deck includes Lillie to help heal the recoil damage from its Sol Breaker move, which deals 120 damage for two metal energy at the cost of 10 damage to itself.

Below is one of the best Solgaleo ex decks in Pokémon TCG Pocket:

  • Cosmog x2

  • Cosmoem x1

  • Solgaleo ex x2

  • Skarmory x2

  • Lillie x2

  • Giant Cape x1

  • Red x1

  • Rocky Helmet x2

  • Cyrus x1

  • Rare Candy x2

  • Professor's Research x2

  • Poke Ball x2

Skarmory works as a useful secondary attacker. It can deal 20 damage for one metal energy, plus 30 more if a Pokémon tool is attached, allowing it to hit for 50 damage using its Metal Arms move. Of course, it also helps that Skarmory isn’t an ex Pokémon, and can therefore damage Pokémon with the Safeguared ability.

The trick with this deck is first to use Professor’s Research and the Poke Ball to get the cards you need. Then, set up Solgaleo ex as fast as you can, ensuring it can deal damage and bypass the downside of its only attack. While one Solgaleo ex is in the active spot, set up the second one and the Skarmory. Use the benched Solgaleo’s ability to swap it into the active spot when your active Pokémon is in trouble, and use Skarmory to finish off your enemy.

Dialga ex deck

Pokemon Tcg Pocket Dialga Ex Deck

Dialga ex is the main part of another powerful Metal-type deck. The deck is adaptable, allowing it to set up other Pokémon while also working as a late-game cleaner. Its first move, Metallic Turbo, deals 30 damage for two metal energy and lets players take two metal energy from the energy zone and attach them to one of their benched Pokémon. This strategy sets up other attackers, ensuring players don’t have to use up too many turns setting up their other Pokémon.

Dialga ex’s second move, Heavy Impact, deals 150 damage for two metal and two colorless energy, making it great for finishing blows.

One of the best Dialga ex decks is mentioned below:

  • Dialga ex x2

  • Meltan x2

  • Melmetal x2

  • Pokemon Center Lady x2

  • Poke Ball x2

  • Professor's Research x2

  • Red x2

  • Leaf x2

  • Cyrus x1

  • Giant Cape x1

  • Rocky Helmet x1

  • Adaman x1

Pokemon Center Lady and Adaman are included to prevent Dialga ex’s health from dropping too low, while Melmetal is the secondary attacker. Players can easily set up using Dialga ex’s Metallic Turbo, and since Melmetal is a non-ex Pokémon, it can counter cards like Oricorio Pom-Pom. Melmetal’s Hard Coat ability reduces damage taken from attacks by 20, making it a tank that’s hard to defeat.

This deck can also support Pokémon that don’t rely on type-specific energy to attack, such as Alolan Raichu ex or Mew ex, which benefit from the energy acceleration provided by Dialga ex. Thanks to this, players can mix the primary attackers around, making this one of the best and most flexible Metal-type decks in the game.

Melmetal and Greninja deck

Melmetal and Greninja Deck in Pokemon Tcg Pocket

A popular strategy is the Melmetal-Greninja deck, which is usually supported by a Druddigon. It’s one of the highest potential setups for a metal deck. Those who don’t mind go for a deck that has high risk but also high reward can use this hybrid deck to help bring out Melmetal’s full potential, while adding some extra chip damage to the mix.

The decklist for the build is:

  • Meltan x2

  • Melmetal x2

  • Druddigon x1

  • Froakie x2

  • Frogadier x2

  • Greninja x2

  • Poke Ball x2

  • Professor's Research x2

  • X Speed x2

  • Giovanni x1

  • Leaf x1

  • Pokemon Center Lady x1

The deck has a simple concept where players place Druddigon in the frontline to stall while they build up Meltan into Melmetal on their bench. Druddigon’s Rough Skin ability is excellent for ensuring most of the enemy’s base Pokémon have to tread carefully when dealing damage to your active Pokémon, lest they end up getting knocked out first.

Ideally, use Leaf to help your Druddigon retreat so you can bring out Melmetal, who can start attacking immediately. While Melmetal uses its excellent sturdiness to stay alive and deal damage, ensure that both of your Greninja can properly get set up on the bench. You don’t have to allocate any energy to them, since the goal is to use their ability to deal chip damage to the enemy every turn. Of course, this means it’s also crucial to have two sets of Greninja’s evolutionary lines, though LootBar can help you with this if you don’t have the required cards.

Conclusion

This concludes our article on the absolute best Metal-type decks in Pokémon TCG Pocket. While there are certainly more decks that players can construct, depending on their preference, all three of the mentioned decks are safe and reliable options for your Metal-type needs. Those who don’t have the required cards to complete their dream Metal-type Pokémon TCG Pocket decks can always buy a Pokémon TCG Pocket top up or two to change that.
