I’ve been grinding ranked matches on Erangel for a long time now, and one thing I’ve learned is this: your landing spot can make or break the match. You can be cracked at aiming, but if you drop wrong or misread the map, it’s over before you even get going. Through hundreds of ranked games, I’ve tested almost every corner of Erangel — from the chaos of Pochinki to the quiet edges of Primorsk. And trust me, every drop plays out differently depending on your style.
So, in this guide, I’m splitting things up for two kinds of players; those who love hot drops and live for early kills, and those who prefer gearing up first and fighting smart later. Before we dive in, it is worth mentioning that if you’re planning to PUBG top up safely and at cheaper rates, check out LootBar; a trusted game top-up platform used by players worldwide.

1. For the Aggressive Players — The Hot-Drop Hunters
If you’re the kind who believes skill solves everything, this section’s for you. You thrive in chaos, you want early kills, and you don’t flinch when bullets start flying the second you hit the ground. These spots will push your reflexes, but they’ll reward you with big kill counts and ranking points if you survive.
Pochinki
I’ve dropped here more times than I can count. It’s right in the middle of the map, which means almost every flight path passes over it. That also means you’re rarely alone. The fights here are fast, brutal, and constant. But if you can clear it early, you come out loaded with loot and kills.
- Great for early action and high kill potential.
- Dense buildings offer plenty of cover, but also make flanks easy to miss.
- Rotations are smooth since you’re already near the center of the map.
Tip: land on rooftops or tall buildings first, grab a gun and start clearing. Don’t waste time looting small houses in the first minute; someone will catch you off guard.
Sosnovka Military Base
Military Base is the definition of “high risk, high reward.” The loot here is insane — level 3 helmets, vests, and weapons everywhere. But you’ll also have ten other squads with the same idea. It’s a battle royale inside the base before the actual game even begins.
- Expect close-quarters fights right from the drop.
- The island location makes rotation tricky once the zone starts shrinking.
- Bridges are deadly; I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve been gatekept there.
If you survive the base, though, you’re basically king of the match. My advice? Get a vehicle early. If the first circle’s north, you don’t want to be stuck at the bridge when the zone closes in.
School and Apartments
If you want non-stop fights, drop School. The building layout is compact and vertical, which means third-party fights are constant. I’ve had matches where five squads land on the roof, and within thirty seconds it’s complete madness. You either come out a hero or go back to the lobby in under a minute.
- Decent loot density for solos and duos.
- Great for practicing aim and movement.
- Rotation options toward Rozhok, Yasnaya, or Pochinki.
I usually land straight on the roof, grab whatever weapon spawns, and start clearing rooms. If you can control the top floor early, the rest becomes easier, but hesitate for a second and someone else takes it.
2. For the Strategic Players — Loot First, Fight Later
Now, not everyone likes jumping straight into chaos. Some players, myself included on bad ping days, prefer to loot quietly, stack up gear, and then move into fights with a plan. These spots let you breathe, loot properly, and still stay competitive in ranked matches.
Mylta Power
Mylta Power is one of those underrated gems. You don’t get too many squads here, but the loot is solid, especially if you’re playing duo or squad. I love landing at the main power plant, looting the warehouses, and then rotating toward Mylta town or Shelter depending on the circle.
- Decent chance at level 2 and 3 loot early.
- Enough cover to loot safely without getting third-partied.
- Vehicle spawns nearby for easy rotations.
Just keep an eye on the zone. If it pulls far north or west, start moving early. You don’t want to get stuck running from the blue.
Primorsk
Primorsk sits on the far west edge of the map, and because of that, it’s usually quiet. It’s one of my favorite places to drop when I just want to warm up or play it smart. Loot’s not as dense as Military Base, but there’s plenty to get fully kitted if you check the docks and warehouses.
- Low contest rate, safe start for ranked games.
- Vehicles almost always spawn nearby.
- Great for rotations along the coastal road toward Quarry or Ferry Pier.
I’ve had matches where I looted Primorsk completely alone, rotated up the coast, and finished top three without even taking early damage. It’s that safe if you manage your rotations right.
Hospital and Surroundings
Hospital sits on the western side, near Georgopol, and I’d say it’s the perfect mix between safety and opportunity. There’s decent loot, not too many enemies unless the plane path runs directly over it, and you can rotate into Georgopol or the hills above it easily.
- Moderate loot with fewer early fights.
- Great line of sight for spotting other squads nearby.
- Perfect spot to regroup and plan your next move.
When I drop here, I usually loot the Hospital rooftop first — it’s got weapons and a solid vantage point. Then I clear the lower floors before moving toward the small compounds to the east. It’s smooth, methodical, and rarely gets messy.
A Few Things I’ve Learned Over Time
After hundreds of ranked matches, some lessons stick no matter where you land.
- First, the flight path decides everything. If your drop is right under the plane, expect company. If it’s far, you’ve probably got time to loot in peace.
- Second, always have a rotation plan. The best loot in the world means nothing if you die to the blue zone.
- And third, fight when you’re ready, not when the map tells you to.
Also, having UC on hand lets you grab top outfits instantly. LootBar makes this fast and reliable.
Final Thoughts
Erangel rewards map knowledge as much as gun skill. Whether you’re the kind who thrives in the madness of Pochinki or someone who’d rather quietly loot Mylta Power and strike later, both styles can climb ranks; it just depends on what fits best. Some days it’s about hot drops at Military Base. Other days it’s Primorsk and careful rotations.
Keeping UC stocked ensures crates and skins are available without interrupting gameplay. A PUBG Mobile top up on LootBar handles this safely and efficiently, letting you focus on climbing ranks instead of worrying about resources.
