Wulfgard Overview
Wulfgard is a Fire Sub-DPS who specializes in generating Fire stacks and triggering Combustion reactions for Fire teams. His kit revolves around applying Fire with his Battle Skill and Combo Skill, then consuming Combustion or Electrification to deal strong burst damage while amplifying Fire damage for the team. He performs best in Fire compositions that rely on stacking and detonating elemental reactions.
Wulfgard Skill Priority
| Skill | Priority | Reason | ||
Rapid Fire Akimbo (Basic Attack) | ★★ | Wulfgard does not rely heavily on Basic Attacks for damage. They can contribute some Fire damage but are not a primary part of his rotation.
Thermite Traces (Battle Skill) | ★★★★ | Wulfgard does not rely heavily on Basic Attacks for damage. They can contribute some Fire damage but are not a primary part of his burst rotation.
Frag Grenade·β (Combo Skill) | ★ | Has a low damage multiplier and long cooldown. Its main value is applying additional Fire stacks rather than dealing damage.
Wolven Fury (Ultimate) | ★★★ | Applies Combustion to all enemies and enables strong follow-up detonations with his Battle Skill. Upgrading it increases overall reaction damage potential.
Wulfgard Best Weapons and Essence Priority
Wulfgard scales primarily with Strength, with Agility as a secondary stat to increase his overall Fire damage and sub-DPS output. Weapons that increase Fire Damage, Skill Damage, or boost damage when triggering elemental reactions pair best with his kit. His best-in-slot option is Clannibal, which increases his Strength and applies an elemental damage taken debuff when he consumes Combustion. Rational Farewell is a strong alternative that increases Fire damage and Skill damage.

Wulfgard Best Gear Set
Wulfgard’s gear depends on his role in the team. When used mainly as a Heat Infliction enabler for Laevatain, running Ultimate Gain Efficiency pieces is recommended so he can cast his Ultimate more often and consistently apply Combustion to trigger Laevatain’s Combo Skill. If Wulfgard is built as a Sub-DPS in reaction teams, the Hot Work set is the best option, improving his personal damage and allowing him to deal stronger burst when consuming Combustion with his enhanced Battle Skill. Frontiers can also be used as an alternative when supporting Laevatain, as its Combo Skill cooldown reduction lets Wulfgard apply Heat Infliction more frequently during rotations.

Wulfgard Best Teams
Wulfgard works best in Fire teams that rely on stacking and detonating Combustion reactions. He pairs especially well with DPS like Laevatain, who benefits greatly from consistent Heat Infliction and Combustion setup. Wulfgard prefers coordinated rotations where he applies Fire stacks with his skills and uses his Ultimate to apply Combustion, allowing teammates to trigger powerful reaction damage while he contributes additional burst through Combustion detonations.
