Laevatain Overview

Laevatain is a Heat DPS Operator that applies Heat, converts it into Melting Flame, and triggers Combustion to deal sustained AoE Arts damage. Her kit uses Heat application and absorption to enhance her Battle Skill, generate Energy quickly, and maintain high Ultimate uptime. She performs best when enemies are consistently affected by Heat, Corrosion, or Combustion, allowing her to activate her Combo Skill and extend her on-field damage during her Ultimate.

Laevatain Skill Priority

Flaming Cinders (Basic Attack)	4th	Mainly supports Heat absorption through her final strike and enables Melting Flame generation. Since most of its value comes from mechanics rather than damage, it should be upgraded last.
Smouldering Fire (Battle Skill)	2nd	A core part of her rotation that consumes Melting Flame to deal heavy damage, apply Combustion, and generate a large amount of Energy. Upgrading this skill directly improves Ultimate and rotation efficiency.
Seethe (Combo Skill)	3rd	Used to generate Melting Flame when Combustion or Corrosion is triggered. While it contributes less damage than her other skills, upgrading it improves consistency and reduces downtime in her rotations.
Twilight (Ultimate)	1st	Laevatain’s primary damage source. Provides large AoE attacks, Heat application, and Heat absorption. Most of her on-field damage and Heat-to-Melting Flame conversion happens here, making this her highest-value upgrade.

Laevatain Best Weapons and Essence Priority

Laevatain is a Heat DPS Operator who scales mainly with Intellect, with Strength as a secondary stat. Weapons that boost Intellect, ATK%, or Basic Attack damage are the most effective for her kit. Her signature weapon, Forgeborn Scathe, is her best-in-slot option, offering the highest overall damage and the strongest synergy with her extended Ultimate uptime. While Umbral Torch is a solid free-to-play alternative, especially with Ardelia, her signature weapon is recommended to fully maximize her damage potential.

Rating - ★★ (Low)
Potential Effect - Battle skill Smouldering Fire improved: Additional attack multiplier is increased to 1.2 times the original, and scoring a hit returns 20 SP.
Reason - Only affects a small portion of her total damage, and the Skill Point refund is barely noticeable. Very minor overall DPS increase.

P2 - Pursuit of Memories

Rating - ★★★ (Good)
Potential Effect - Intellect +20, Basic Attack DMG Dealt +15%.
Reason - Provides a straightforward stat boost that improves her sustained damage, especially during Ultimate uptime. More impactful than P1 but still not a major breakpoint.

P3 - Fragments from the Past

Rating - ★★★ (Good)
Potential Effect - Battle skill Smouldering Fire improved: Duration of the Combustion applied by the skill is increased by 50%. DMG of the Combustion applied by the skills is increased to 1.5 times the original.
Reason - Improves Combustion damage. Moderate increase to her personal DPS, but does not significantly change her rotation or playstyle.

P4 - Ice Cream Furnace

Rating - ★★★ (Good)
Potential Effect - Ultimate Twilight improved: Ultimate Energy cost -15%.
Reason - Can smooth rotations in some scenarios, but Laevatain already generates Energy efficiently through enhanced Battle Skills, making the impact difficult to quantify.

P5 - Proof of Existence

Rating - ★★★ (Good)
Potential Effect - Ultimate Twilight improved: Enhanced basic attack DMG multiplier is increased to 1.2 times the original; during the ultimate, every enemy defeated by Laevatain extends ultimate duration by +1s (max: +7s).
Reason - Her strongest potential by far. Significantly boosts AoE damage and Ultimate duration.
