Controlled Operator – Best Healing Items Setup

Recommended Item: Yazhen Spray [L]

  • High total healing

  • Triggers at low HP

The Controlled Operator usually takes the most frontline pressure, so they need a stable healing source that can trigger multiple times. Slow-recovery healing items can activate repeatedly after sustained damage, greatly reducing the risk of a fight collapsing due to consecutive mistakes, making them the best-in-slot choice for the Controlled Operator.

Other Operators Healing Items Setup

Recommended Setup

  • One Other Operator should carry an instant-heal healing item, while the remaining slots can be distributed based on team needs (for example, Fluffed Jincao Powder, etc.).

Fluffed Jincao Powder

  • The remaining slots can be filled with healing items as needed.
  • It is recommended that one Operator with strong survivability carries a revival item (such as Arts Vial or Arts Tube).

Since Other Operators generally face much lower survival pressure, overloading them with healing items tends to waste resources. In practice, it’s more efficient to concentrate healing items on the Controlled Operator, resulting in a more balanced and effective overall resource setup.

Special Powders and Healing Mechanics

Valley IV Special Plants

  • Firebuckle

映火蕎花

  • Umbraline

黯銀柑實

Wuling Special Plants

  • Fluffed Jincao

蓬茸錦草

  • Thorny Yazhen

荊刺芽針

All four of these are region-specific special plant variants, and their healing effects are significantly stronger than standard versions, making them core resources for mid- to late-game healing setups. Compared to regular powders, special powders not only offer higher raw values but also provide fixed-percentage HP recovery, which makes them almost essential in high-difficulty encounters.

Differences Between Instant Healing and Continuous Healing Effects

Instant Healing Powder: Provides an additional instant heal equal to 20% of max HP.

  • Firebuckle Powder

蕎花藥粉

  • Fluffed Jincao Powder

蓬茸錦草粉末

Continuous Healing Powder: Provides an additional 30% of max HP as continuous regeneration over time

  • Citromix

柑實沖泡劑

  • Thorny Yazhen Powder

荊刺芽針粉末

Instant healing items can rapidly restore HP in a short time, making them ideal for critical moments where you need to avoid being instantly defeated. Continuous regeneration items, on the other hand, are better suited for situations with frequent incoming damage and longer battle pacing.

Rules for Carrying Tactical Items and Healing Items

  • Each operator can carry only one tactical item.

  • Most healing items have a maximum of 3 uses.

  • Healing items cannot be resupplied during combat.

The item description for instant healing items states: “Heals when the holder’s HP drops below X%”, and is marked as “supports the controlled operator.” However, the actual trigger mechanics require special attention. Instant healing items will only heal the holder and the controlled operator, and they can only trigger once per battle. As a result, instant healing is essentially a one-time emergency survival tool, designed to prevent key operators from being instantly defeated rather than to maintain sustained HP levels. It is not suitable as a team’s primary healing source and is also not recommended to be widely equipped on multiple Other operators.

By contrast, the actual description for Continuous Healing Effects reads: “Used on any team member whose HP falls below X%.” This defines a completely different role from instant healing. Continuous healing items can heal any operator in the team, supporting both the controlled and Other operators, and they have no single-trigger limitation, allowing them to activate repeatedly as long as conditions are met. Because of this, Continuous Healing Effects are the true core of team-wide healing. They are especially important for the controlled operator, who frequently takes damage, and they are an irreplaceable component of the best-in-slot healing item setup in Endfield.

How to Get these Special Plants?

First, while exploring the map, you will often find these special plants scattered on the ground. Make sure to pick them up and store them in your inventory. Below are the locations where they most commonly appear:

Gathering (Early Game)

Near the Originium Byproduct Processing CenterFirebuckleUmbralineRespawn time: 10–20 minutes

Gathering (Wuling)

Fluffed Jincao: near teleport points• Thorny Yazhen: around the main base

In fact, there are many types of plants located close to the main base. For example, as shown above, you can clear the Blight using Liquid Xiranite to access this area and gather them.

Planting (Highly Recommended)

Gathering works well as a short-term solution, but planting is the core source of healing items in the mid to late game. Once the related systems are set up, powder and healing item supplies will no longer be an issue.

After completing the early planting-related quests, you will unlock a plot of farmland near the main base in Wuling. By finishing the corresponding tutorial missions, you can choose which plants to cultivate. If you don’t have the plants you want to grow, you can use Wuling Stock Bills to purchase the appropriate seeds from the merchant next to the farmland, then craft them via Crafting.

Keep in mind that special plants can also be obtained through planting. For example, Fluffed Jincao can be acquired by creating a Jincao Field and planting Jincao—harvesting it will also yield a portion of Fluffed Jincao.

Below is an example of an efficient farmland layout (high space efficiency), which you can adjust based on your needs:

How to Craft Healing Items?

If you can’t find special healing item recipes in Crafting, check the Crafting Manual in the top-right corner of the Crafting interface. By gathering the corresponding plants, you can gain experience and unlock the recipes for special healing items.
