Arc Raiders: Where to find Olives

Arc Raiders may be a survival game at heart, but it has many elements that resonate among fans. These range from exploring the wasteland world to collecting resources for selling or progressing in the game. Scrappy is the player’s companion, who searches and collects loot in the background during runs. The companion can be upgraded to increase his usefulness, and Olives are a key element in Scrappy’s progression.

What are Olives in Arc Raiders?

Olive in Arc Raiders.

Olives are an uncommon resource in Arc Raiders that can be used for multiple things, with the most common use being upgrading Scrappy.  The level 4 upgrade requires Olives and more items, which increases Scrappy’s chance of collecting rare and high-value loot. While Scrappy can be consistently upgraded, this specific upgrade is a game-changer.

Olives can also be consumed, and the player will get a small +20 stamina boost. Players can also sell Olives if they need quick cash, which isn’t recommended because of the higher use value of the resource. Lastly, Olives can also be recycled into Assorted Seeds. You can decide what you want to do with Olives once you find them, just make sure you have the game or buy it from LootBar.

Why are Olives hard to find in Arc Raiders?

Olives are uncommon and also highly sought after, which makes them hard to get. This is particularly an issue because Olives don’t spawn everywhere, and players must put in serious effort if they want to get their hands on them. Other players aren’t the only competition in the search for Olives, as ARC enemies are also usually after the resource.

Where to find Olives in Arc Raiders?

Olives are typically only found on the Blue Gate map, but some conditions make the resource spawn elsewhere.

Olive Grove (Blue Gate)

Olives are significantly scarcer compared to other fruits like apricots and lemons. They grow on trees and are typically only found in the Olive Grove on the Blue Gate map. The area is a high-spawn area for Olives, but you need to find the correct Olive Trees, as they all look similar. The Olive Trees are larger compared to the surrounding vegetation, with thick dark green crowns and gnarled trunks. Most fail to successfully find Olives because so many players are after the resource; you may have to make multiple runs to find the resource. Each tree only yields 1 or 2 Olives, which makes it harder to reliably farm the resource. Olives can also spawn on the ground next to Olive Trees, so it's important to search the area properly.

Lush Blooms map modifier events

When the Lush Blooms map modifier is active, nature items spawn in multiple maps, and Olives are also noted to appear. The resources are typically in Wicker Baskets, which spawn in camps and other natural areas. The baskets contain multiple nature items and don’t always have Olives, but this could be a more effective method of collecting the resources if you’re unable to find any in the Olive Grove. Dam Battlegrounds Hydroponic Domes usually have Wicker Baskets spawn, making it a hot spot to try and find Olives.

Tips to farm Olives efficiently

Safe Pocket in Arc Raiders.

The map modifier events are random, so chances are you will likely attempt to find Olives from the Olive Grove, and here are some tips to improve your chances of finding and keeping the resource.

  • Use a Safe Pocket, as this will protect your Olives if you die before extraction

  • Extract immediately after collecting a specific number of Olives. This will be more time-consuming, but it is a safer method.

  • Check the Olive Trees and the ground, as some Olives may fall near the trees.

  • If someone beats you to the Olives, make another run immediately, as the spawn will refresh.

Another thing players can do is plan their route, so they don’t miss any trees and potentially Olives. Follow a specific route, checking the ground first and then the tree, before moving on to other trees. Players can also experiment with different timings to gauge when the Olives Grove is less crowded.

Conclusion

Olives have many uses in Arc Raiders, chief among them being the massive upgrade they can give to Scrappy. This makes finding high-value loot even more efficient, but getting your hands on Olives isn’t so easy. Players will need to strategize how to efficiently farm the resource from the Olive Grove, or keep an eye out for the Lush Blooms map modifier, if they want a safer route. Which method you use depends on your preference, but if you don’t have the game, you can get the Arc Raiders Steam key and start farming Olives.
