What to expect from Fortnite’s Death Star Sabotage event

Fortnite’s v35.20 update will wrap up the Star Wars mini-season with a huge live event called Death Star Sabotage. The event will start on June 7, 2 PM ET, where players will board the Death Star from Star Wars to stop Emperor Palpatine’s super laser from destroying the Fortnite island. This also means most of the Star Wars-themed cosmetics will leave the store, though LootBar here to ensure you don’t miss out.

The in-game files gave players additional insight into event details. What makes the event stand out are the player interactions. The six-phase event will feature cool gameplay elements like turret firing, bridge hits, and even ship takedowns. Players will also wear full Stormtrooper armor (except the character’s head), and hear voice lines from Imperial troops, all while being able to squad up with up to three friends to experience it together.

The scale of the event is similar to the Fracture event from Chapter 4, Season 3, setting the stage for the next season. This finale will likely wipe out the themed locations, making way for the upcoming superhero-themed season.

How does the Star Destroyer work in update Fortnite v25.20?

Before the Death Star steals the spotlight, Fortnite hands players the keys to one of Star Wars’ most iconic warships: the Star Destroyer. The Imperial ship appears once every match around the second storm circle. To board it, players must fight and enter a portal that opens for 90 seconds, where they can then wreak havoc on the island.

Players inside the Star Destroyer will have a top-down view to locate enemies. It comes with infinite ammo, though there is a 2-second cooldown per shot. Each shot scans for up to 25 players and hits with serious damage that varies depending on how many teammates you have on board: 90 damage in solos, 72 in duos, 54 in trios, and 36 in squads.

It has an 80-second time limit, after which players on board will be rifted back to the island. Keep in mind, the Star Destroyer is only available in unranked, as a hotfix on May 30 removed the battleship from ranked mode. This is likely due to it being too overpowered for competitive play.

The Apprentice Rey skin drops with a Sith variant in Fortnite

Epic dropped one last surprise before ending this season with the Apprentice Rey skin with a Sith Rey variant. While the default style is Rey in her usual look, the Sith variant is directly taken from the dark side vision Rey has in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. While the scene lasted for a brief moment in the movie, it gave us a dark alternate future where Rey joins the dark side, dressed in dark robes, a red lightsaber, and a menacing expression.

The skin costs 1,500 V-Bucks and comes with a themed pickaxe based on Ochi’s Blade, the mysterious dagger from the same movie. Sith Rey was originally set to be a part of the Battle Pass as a separate skin, but was swapped out to balance the Star Wars content in the pass. The skin looks so good that players will want to buy Fortnite V-Bucks before it goes away.

How can you unlock Twitch Drops rewards in Fortnite v35.20?

During all this, players can also jump into the Galactic Battle Twitch Drops by watching Twitch streamers who have the special Galactic Battle extension enabled. Star Wars-themed items will randomly appear on the screen during the stream, and you need to click them quickly to collect them.

Collecting all 12 of these unique items from the extension rewards you with five exclusive Star Wars faction Sprays in the game. You can easily track your progress in the Collection tab, and creators can also trigger Takeover events where you can spam the Darth Jar Jar Emoticon to resume collecting.

You need to ensure your Twitch and Epic Games accounts are linked before you start. Doing this simple step will get you the Darth Jar Jar emoticon right away. You will get all the rewards the next time you log in to the game, though sometimes it can take up to 30 days for everything to appear. Also, if enough players claim the items, everyone gets a cool Galactic War Loading Screen. The Twitch Drops run until June 7, so be sure to catch these in time.

How can you join Sabrina Carpenter on the Jam Stage?

Apart from all the Star Wars chaos, update 35.20 brings something colorful with the Sabrina event. It started on May 30 and will run till June 16, where players can join Sabrina Carpenter on the Jam Stage in a dance-off.

This is a rhythm game where you sync your emotes to the beats of Sabrina’s popular songs like Espresso and Bad Chem. The better you groove, the more your heart meter climbs. And if you have great rhythm, you can be selected to help run the show as a Dance leader, Special Effects Pro, or Video Artist.

The entire experience is refreshing and full of charm, with the stage designed by Stufish Entertainment Architects. The top performers in the event are then featured next to Sabrina in the finale snapshot. There is also the Bed Chem Bundle, which was added on May 29 with a brand new jam Trak and Emote. It makes for a good break from the usual grind and a fun way to wrap the season up.

Conclusion

To summarize, Fortnite v35.20 is slated to be another fantastic season for players to enjoy. With so many events lined up, alongside several attractive cosmetics for players to acquire, LootBar is here to ensure no one misses out on getting everything they need. Who knows when these Star Wars cosmetics will return, especially with the next season rumored to be based on superheroes.
