What will change in Fortnite OG Season 6?
While nothing has officially been confirmed about Fortnite OG Season 6, that doesn’t mean that players can’t predict what will happen based on the original sixth season. The corruption will spread from the lake and influence the entire map, giving birth to certain areas that will have dead or barren soil. There will also be a handful of runes that players will be able to see. While these runes were originally purple, they’ll be red in Fortnite OG Season 6 to account for the cube’s color changing.
Finally, the cube will also likely give birth to Cube Monsters. While these monsters will likely be more important in the Fortnitemares Halloween event that we’ll expand on before, they offer a range of loot when defeated, making them crucial for players who want some easy goodies. Of course, they’ll add a PvE element to the otherwise completely PvP game mode, switching things up and ensuring things stay fresh for players.
Fortnitemares
Already confirmed through mined data, the Halloween Fortnite event called Fortnitemares will return in Fortnite OG Season 6. In the original, this event happened when the Floating Island above the formerly called Loot Lake became unstable and exploded, resulting in several cube fragments being scattered around the map.
These fragments started spawning the Cube Monsters that we mentioned previously, but that wasn’t all. A thick fog surrounded the map to make for an even spookier setting, and this event marked the beginning of the cube’s invasion, directly resulting in the Butterfly event. This will all likely also happen in Fortnite OG Season 6, though it’s unknown if Epic will decide to make any changes to how things pan out.
Naturally, Fortnitemares falls on Halloween this time around, too, so players can expect a handful of spooky cosmetics to hit the store. It wouldn’t be surprising if Epic decided to collaborate with some known spooky IPs to make things even more interesting, though the developer could also opt to have some iconic skins return to the item shop.
