Exclusive weapons are one of the most important investments in AFK Journey. Every hero has exclusive weapons but upgrading them is very expensive and requires a lot of limited resources, so knowing where to spend the resources matters a lot. Upgrading the right one can carry your account through game modes like Dream Realm, AFK Stages, and Ravaged Realm. This guide will help you what to priority, which heroes deserve a max +25 level, which are fine at +10, or +5, and how to manage Tidal, Temporal, and Twilight Essence wisely.

Understanding Exclusive Weapon Upgrades
Before upgrading, it helps to first understand how the Exclusive Weapon upgrade works. A hero's Exclusive Weapon can be unlocked after you ascend them into a Mythic+ tier. Each hero's exclusive weapon can be upgraded from +1 up to +25, with each level unlocking stronger skill/passive effects or improving it.
The most important levels are +5, +10, +15, and +25, these are the levels where heroes unlock or upgrade a skill/passive. Upgrading them from +1 to +5 costs Tidal Essence, while pushing beyond +6 into +10 and or to the +25 range requires Temporal, and Twilight Essence, which is more rarer and harder to obtain. Because of this, you want to be very careful about which heroes you push past +10 and which ones you stop at. Exclusive Weapon Priority List
Exclusive Weapon
Not every hero needs the same level of investment, and that's what this list is for. The table below explains every hero worth upgrading, the recommended upgrade target priority, and the reason why their EX weapon matters. Heroes are grouped into Five priority tiers: First, Very High, High, Medium, and Low. This is based on their current Season 6 meta performance across game modes like Dream Realm, AFK Stages, and Ravage Realm.
Exclusive Weapon Priority List Table
| Priority | Hero | Target EX Level | Best For | Reason |
| First | Elijah & Lailah | +25 | Dream Realm, AFK Stages | Their EX enhances the Stellar Bond resonance, boosting linked allies' Vitality and Energy gain when all linked heroes share the same faction. |
| First | Contess | +25 | Dream Realm (all bosses) | Starts battle hidden and untargetable while regenerating energy. Her EX adds a HP-burn-to-shield conversion on Exempted allies, turning her into a powerful sustainer in long fights. |
| First | Aliceth | +25 | Dream Realm Endless | Her EX grants herself and an ally immunity from their first fatal blow, giving them temporary invincibility and moving them to safety. |
| First | Aurora | +25 | Dream Realm Endless | EX boosts all allied summons' damage and at +15 allied summons ignore the Nightmare target's Physical & Magic DEF. Available as a free Supreme+ hero through seasonal progression. |
| Very High | Galahad | +25 | Dream Realm Endless | EX summons a shadow copy of her marked ally. The shadow inherits part of the ally's stats and starts with bonus energy, and enemies inside the circle gets slowed. |
| Very High | Velara | +25 | Dream Realm, AFK Stages | Her EX enhances her magic circles, when a circle awakens, it fires a mystic bolt at the weakest unit, shielding allies or damaging enemies. Her ultimate also steals a portion of enemy stats and distributes them to all allies, making her stronger the more enemies there are. |
| Very High | Solise | +25 | Dream Realm, AFK Stages | Her EX enhances her Bulbsprite system, when a Bulb blooms, the blessed ally gains bonus Physical and Magic DEF based on Solise's ATK. |
| Very High | Silven | +25 | Dream Realm, AFK Stages | EX boosts his physical damage output. One of the best pre-endless Dream Realm damage dealers in Season 6 |
| Very High | Baelran | +25 | Dream Realm | A strong HP-loss damage dealer whose EX scales really well in long boss fights, which is very effective in various Dream Realm bosses. |
| Very High | Gunnar | +25 | Dream Realm, AFK Stages | His EX boosts the ally behind him with extra attack range and bonus ATK. At the highest upgrade, that ally becomes invincible and gains extra ATK as long as Gunnar's HP stays high. |
| Very High | Mehira | +25 | Ravaged Realm, AFK Stages | Support for Wilder and Silven-based squads whose EX significantly strengthens her buff output, making her essential for top Ravage Realm lineups. |
| Very High | Saida | +25 | AFK Stages | A top Hypogean priority for AFK Stage progression whose EX unlocks and strengthens her kit for pushing high-deficit stages. |
| Very High | Kulu | +25 | AFK Stages | Top Hypogean carry for high-level AFK Stages whose EX enhances her damage and utility significantly. |
| Very High | Alna | +25 | AFK Stages, Dream Realm | One of the best tanks in the game whose EX boosts her defensive presence, making her especially important for deficit pushing in AFK Stages. |
| High | Harak | +25 | PvP, Dream Realm | His EX enhances his Life Drain stacking each assist or defeat adds more Life Drain, making him self-sustaining in a fight. His feast mode activates at battle start, granting Crit and Haste boosts that reset in duration with each assist or defeat. |
| High | Phraesto | +25 | Dream Realm, AFK Stages | His EX taunts and deals heavy damage to the enemy who dealt the most damage when his Illusion is defeated. At the highest upgrade he summons a brand new Illusion to replace it, making him incredibly durable across long fights. |
| High | Reinier | +10 | All Modes | His EX knocks down the enemy he swaps positions with and permanently increases the damage that enemy takes for the rest of the battle, adding strong disruption on top of an already versatile kit. |
| High | Eironn | +10 | AFK Stages, PvP | His EX is what makes his gather mechanic actually work. Without it enemies don't cluster effectively, which guts his entire kit. |
| High | Florabelle | +10 | AFK Stages, Dream Realm | Her EX at +10 unlocks an upgrade that significantly strengthens her summons. |
| High | Cassadee | +10 | Dream Realm, AFK Stages | Core part of the Silven/Gunnar/Cassadee pre-endless Dream Realm lineup, with +10 being the important breakpoint for her EX output. |
| High | Shadewing | +10 | Dream Realm (pre-endless) | One of the stronger pre-endless Dream Realm carries whose EX at +10 is enough to make him effective, though his long-term viability is uncertain as Silven continues to rise in the meta. |
| High | Cecia | +10 | AFK Stages, Dream Realm | Her EX enhances Mr. Carlyle's damage output which is her primary source of damage, making +10 the sweet spot for investment. |
| Medium | Smokey & Meerky | +10 | Dream Realm (as support) | Previously a first priority but Contess has taken over the sustain role in endless Dream Realm. Still useful in certain compositions but no longer worth rushing past +10. |
| Medium | Pandora | +10 | AFK Stages | Her crowd control and debuff utility still works in AFK Stages at +10, but she has fallen out of top endless Dream Realm teams in the current meta. |
| Medium | Shemira | +10 | Dream Realm (pre-endless) | A long time meta hero now being phased out by Galahad and Silven in endless Dream Realm, though she remains solid for pre-endless content and early game stages. |
| Medium | Thador | +10 | AFK Stages, Dream Realm | Passively heals himself while his lieutenant is alive, making him very self-sustaining. His EX at +10 grants his lieutenant a large burst of Energy at the start of battle, significantly accelerating the carry's first ultimate. |
| Medium | Isabella | +10 | Dream Realm | Has niche Dream Realm use in specific boss setups where her EX at +10 is enough for the utility she provides. |
| Medium | Daimon | +10 | AFK Stages, Dream Realm | His EX deals true damage that scales with each enemy's max HP, meaning the harder the content and the bigger the boss's health pool the better he performs, while also generating shields for himself and his two weakest allies. |
| Medium | Valka | +10 | PvP, AFK Stages | Her EX enhances her combo by stacking panic on enemies through normal attacks, then unleashing true damage slashes that scale with the target's max HP and heal her for a large portion of her own HP. |
| Medium | Faramor | +10 | Dream Realm | His EX deals true damage that bypasses boss defenses, giving him a niche role in specific Dream Realm encounters where +10 is enough. |
| Medium | Marilee | +10 | Dream Realm | A consistent true damage dealer with the right setup, reliable in certain Dream Realm boss compositions where her EX at +10 hits the practical target. |
| Medium | Cyran | +10 | Dream Realm, AFK Stages | A disruption and control mage whose EX complements zone-control lineups in both Dream Realm and AFK Stages at +10. |
| Medium | Hugin | +10 | Ravaged Realm, Dream Realm | A defensive utility support whose EX improves survivability in longer fights, pairing well with zone-control heroes like Galahad at +10. |
| Medium | Ravion | +10 | AFK Stages | A rogue carry useful for AFK Stage progression where his EX at +10 is the recommended stopping point. |
| Medium | Zanie | +10 | AFK Stages | A useful Lightbearer marksman for AFK Stage teams whose EX at +10 is enough to fulfill her role effectively. |
| Medium | Lenya | +10 | AFK Stages | A rogue carry for Wilder AFK Stage lineups who picks up her important EX passive at +10. |
| Medium | Odie | +10 | Dream Realm | His EX poison stacking becomes a major sustained damage source in Dream Realm boss fights where poison synergy is relevant. |
| Medium | Nazrik | +10 | AFK Stages | A solid Mauler marksman for AFK Stage content where his EX at +10 covers his role adequately. |
| Medium | Shakir | +10 | Ravage Realm only | Largely phased out of Dream Realm in Season 6, he still has Ravage Realm use in specific encounters making +10 the right ceiling. |
| Medium | Lily May | +10 | PvP, Ravage Realm | Survived multiple nerfs and remains strong in PvP and viable in Ravage Realm, though she's no longer relevant in Dream Realm making +10 the target. |
| Medium | Ludovic | +10 | Ravage Realm only | Lost Dream Realm relevance in Season 6 but still contributes in specific Ravage Realm magic-focused encounters where his EX at +10 is enough. |
| Low | Korin | +5 | AFK Stages (early) | A useful early game warrior that falls off quickly once stronger options become available, making +5 all he needs. |
| Low | Lyca | +5 | AFK Stages | Provides some early utility but isn't competitive in later content, so stop at +5. |
| Low | Kruger | +5 | Dream Realm (boss-specific) | Has very specific physical DEF shred value against certain Dream Realm bosses, but that niche doesn't justify going past +5. |
| Low | Rowan | +5 | AFK Stages (early) | Once a useful early support who has since been largely power-crept, with +5 being enough to get value during the early game. |
| Low | Damian | +5 | PvP, early game | A budget early-game support with some PvP use but very limited Dream Realm value in Season 6, making +5 the practical target. |
| Low | Bryon | +5 | AFK Stages (early) | An early Wilder marksman useful before stronger options arrive, with +5 covering his early game contribution. |
| Low | Sonja | +5 | AFK Stages (early) | An early Lightbearer warrior that gets outpaced quickly, needing nothing past +5. |
| Low | Thoran | +5 | AFK Stages (early) | An early Graveborn frontliner that has been power-crept by stronger tank options in later content, making +5 the ceiling. |
| Low | Sinbad | +5 | AFK Stages (early) | An early rogue damage dealer for AFK Stage comps that gets outpaced quickly, with no need to go past +5. |
Heroes not listed in this table are not worth investing in for their exclusive weapon at this stage of the meta. Focus your Temporal and Twilight Essence on the heroes above.
Priority Tips
If you're not sure where to start, focus on getting the First Priority EX, like Elijah & Lailah, their +15 is really good because now they can be into nearly every Dream Realm team regardless of which bosses there are. From there, the Very High EX, High EX and so on. That said, if you have a favorite hero you genuinely enjoy playing, there's nothing wrong with investing in their EX even if they're low or not in the meta. The priority list is a guide, not a rule, play the game in a way that you enjoy it.
Conclusion
At the end of the day, the best exclusive weapon upgrades are the ones that works for you and your playstyle, the one that helps and benefits your team. If you're more into meta or just looking to strengthen your account, the First Priority EX are great starting points because they deliver the most consistent returns on all game modes, followed by the Very High Priority EX which is good for most top Dream Realm and AFK Stage teams. But don't feel pressured to follow every priority, the list is just there to help and make you understand why some heroes are generally good. Remember to take your time and enjoy the game.
