Dark War Survival finally introduced the option to change servers without having to create an entirely new character. Whenever your state is eligible, you will receive some migration passes to help you make the change. You can also buy these passes using Alliance coins to change servers later on if you want.
If you run out of the free migration passes and don’t have enough alliance coins but still want to migrate, don’t worry. You can use store packs to get the passes. Use the deals on LootBar to save money on migration passes and other resources. Before that though, let’s learn a bit more about migration in Dark War Survival and how it works.

The Basic Rules for Migrating
Other than the already mentioned migration passes, there are other things to take into account before you can change states. The first and most important thing is your “tier”. This is decided by your total migration score, which is based on total power (not unit combat power).
Anyone above 317M migration score is considered an elite, while the rest are divided into medium, advanced, and regular tiers. The better your tier, the more migration passes you’ll need to change states, starting with only 5 passes required for regular tiers.
Some other ground rules are that you can’t be a part of any alliance, or serving as a president in any state. You can’t currently be in active combat if you want to migrate either, and your Watchtower has to be level 20 or above to change servers. Last but not least, you can only switch states once per event, so choose very carefully since you’ll be stuck otherwise.
Immigration Slots for Each Tier
To balance things out, Dark War Survival only allows states to accept a set amount of survivors from each tier. Every single state can only have one elite immigrant, 6 advanced immigrants, 30 medium immigrants, and 120 regular immigrants.
This stops any states from becoming much stronger than others, and gives everyone a fair chance. Most players will be in the regular or medium tiers, so it should be easy for them to migrate without having to worry about available slots.
The Different Phases of Migration
The Migration event is divided into three phases, with each one serving a specific purpose. Here’s more information about each phase in order:
Phase I: Preparation
The first phase lets players look at all the different states they can possibly migrate to. There will be a list of options that shows different countries and servers that are available to your character. Once you pick one you like, you can contact the president of that state and ask them for an invitation.
Phase 2: Invitations
During the second phase, presidents can send invitations to players that want to join their state. They can only invite a set amount of players depending on the player’s tier, which we discussed earlier. Speaking of tiers, medium, advanced, and elite players can also apply to join specific states in this phase. Regular players on the other hand, can’t apply and can only be invited.
Phase 3: Free Migration
The last phase of the migration event lets regular tier players freely move to available states if they still have open spaces in the regular quota. Higher tier players will still have to submit applications and wait for approval, while presidents can still send out invites to anyone they like.
Don’t worry if you’re new to the game and haven’t been invited to any states yet. When the free migration phase begins, you can easily go to any state that still has slots open.
Strong States and Regular States
States are also divided into two tiers. Most of them are considered regular states, but there are also some “strong” states. The combined power of the top 100 players in a state determine whether or not it is strong. To balance things out, strong states get less migration slots so they have less room for improvement.
Regular states will have more available free slots, meaning they can accept more players. Besides, if you’re new to Dark War Survival, you should stay away from strong states anyway. Look for growing and active states instead so that your server has other players like you that are still new to the game. That’ll keep things fairer, and more fun.
Do You Even Need to Migrate?
Every multiplayer game slowly loses its player base. Servers start to die out and it’s hard to find active players. The same thing happens in Dark War Survival, and now there are so many dead states/servers with ghost settlements. It gets harder to survive with no shelters or alliances around to help you, and that’s why migration was introduced. It lets you join better and more active states to stay alive.
If you’re in an inactive or very weak state that keeps losing fights, you should consider migrating to a new one. You should also migrate if there are grifters or trolls in your current state that keep ruining your experience. But, if your state seems active enough and the other players aren’t bothering you, it’s best to stay and continue growing.
It's also important to ration out your migration passes too. They’re hard to get, and you can only buy one from the alliance shop. But, you can get them for cheap through deals on LootBar and freely move to different servers even if you’re elite tier!
Conclusion
Eventually, you will have to migrate to survive in Dark War Survival, because all states become inactive eventually. When that happens, this guide has all the info you need! Just remember to avoid weak states that keep getting attacked and losing cross-state battles, and to also avoid the strongest states that have super-high spenders. But, if you want to compete with these spenders and go right to the top, top up Dark War Survival through Lootbar to make sure you’re always one step ahead.
